Abstract

Pharmacy education in Indonesia presents a structurally distinct academic challenge shaped by a dual-degree pathway (S1 Farmasi and Profesi Apoteker), mandatory practicum-intensive competency requirements under the APTFI framework, and the national pharmacist competency examination (UKAI). These contextual features amplify academic pressure in ways not fully captured by international literature. Dropout and delayed graduation remain persistent challenges in Indonesian pharmacy higher education. This systematic bibliographic analysis identifies and synthesizes factors influencing academic resilience among pharmacy students, with emphasis on Indonesia-specific dynamics and factor interaction pathways. A PRISMA-guided bibliographic analysis was conducted across PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and SINTA (2015-2024). Methodological quality of included studies was assessed using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT, Hong et al., 2018). A total of 47 articles met the inclusion criteria. Six determinant categories were identified. Growth mindset functioned as a key mediator between institutional support and academic engagement under high practicum load, while academic engagement sequentially mediated the pathway to academic resilience. A multicountry study (n=3,950) confirmed moderate resilience levels with significant institutional variation. Academic resilience is multidimensional. A structured three-stage institutional intervention model (PRIMA-F) is proposed: Psychological Preparation (semester 1-2), Resilience Reinforcement (semester 3-5), and Identity Maturation and Academic Achievement (semester 6-8), as an evidence-based framework applicable to Indonesian pharmacy programs.
